THE FOOD TOUR
This tour is designed to show our visitors the best of Mexican food, the street food of Mexico City. Throughout the tour we will taste various dishes of Mexican gastronomy from local fusions to the traditional Tacos al pastor, a quintessential Mexican street food that promises a burst of flavors with every bite. Originating from the vibrant streets of Mexico City, these tacos are a mouthwatering fusion of marinated pork, grilled to perfection on a vertical spit, much like shawarma. The succulent meat is then thinly sliced and served on warm corn tortillas, topped with fresh pineapple, cilantro, onions, and a squeeze of lime.
We will discover the secrets behind ancestral preparations such as Mezcal or one of the oldest dishes of the continent, the Tlacoyos, thick tortillas stuffed with flavorful fillings like beans, cheese, or fava beans.
This food tour promises not just a gastronomic delight but a cultural immersion, where the vibrant atmosphere enhances the flavors of every dish. Join us as we navigate the culinary treasures of the street food in Mexicos City Historic Center.

Mia Kayser22 August 2024 I stumbled upon Axolotours by happenstance during my short stay in Coyoacán and I couldn’t have been more impressed. Paco’s love for the city where he was born and raised radiated through his knowledge of it, from his vast historical and geographical knowledge to the cuisine. He answered our many questions thoroughly with care, and i left the tour with a deep appreciation for the neighborhood. Paco is an example of someone who is doing exactly what he was meant to do. He is an intelligent, humble individual whose warm personality will make anyone feel like they are in good hands. I could not recommend Axolotours enough!
